The End is Near

You know what writing a book makes you miss? Blogging.

And your family.

And your friends.

And even cooking.

And free time.

You know what it makes you not miss? Take out.

But Shannon and I are closer than ever to finishing the TypePad for Dummies book. We turned in the final pages of our manuscript today! Next up is author review, but we’re thisclose to being finished. Oh my. FINISHED. What a word. Sometimes that word seemed so far away we thought we’d never experience it.

The book is already available for pre-order on Amazon, and if you don’t think it’s a rush to see your name in lights at Amazon, you need to check your pulse. That little page makes me giddy, and if you know me, giddy isn’t something I exhibit often.

The book itself will be out in February. And when it comes out, you can expect our book tour and signings to put poor Pioneer Woman to shame. Because, you know, everyone lines up for six hours to have their tech book signed.

(Update: Apparently I’m so out of practice with my blogging that a) I found a typo after I published and b) I didn’t include a title. Doh.)

I would absolutely stand in line for six hours to have you two sign my book. Although THIS time I will be bringing a flask.

Congratulations!!!

Susan–Thanks! If we did a book signing, I’d have an open bar. ;)

Melissa–You are so sweet. No, Shannon and I are firmly in agreement that there will be no tour or signings. It makes us assume the fetal position to even consider it.

I’d come out for a signing, too. I’d bring snacks and cocktails. And then take you out for dinner at a lovely restaurant. Or my house. Whatever.

Congrats!!!

Whew! For a minute there, I thought “The End” meant you’d caught a glimpse of me from behind.

Congratulations on your book. If you decide a tour is in order, let me know. I plan to hire a nubile grad student to stand in for me in our family Christmas card photo. I’ll see if she’s available for a regional book tour and if she minds being called Chilihead.

Oh man I can’t wait to see your name on a book! I’m going to keep an eye out for the “WE’RE DONE” post so I can call you for lunch to hear all the wonderful and painful details. I’m so proud for you both!!
