{happy dance}
I slightly dinged, then broke, then exploded my blog. Yeah. I’m the author of Blogging Basics 101 and I SCREWED UP MY BLOG TO THE POINT IT WOULDN’T WORK. That could go two ways: You love me because I’m human OR you completely lose faith in me. I’m going to go with the former and sing to myself.
I took some chances trying to teach myself some WordPress code and ended up breaking Don’t Try This at Home. After some e-mails to friends (Hi, Lisa! Hey, Mrs. Flinger!), I started e-mailing my server people at DreamHost. They answered everything for me and I was able to start over, completely from scratch tonight. And you know what? I’m so glad I broke my blog. I really got to get in and learn some things. I highly recommend it. Beware the frustration though. I also highly recommend a few bottles of wine in stand-by mode.
So the blog is back up and you can see it. I still have to finish importing my stuff to WordPress from Typepad, fix whatever permalinks aren’t working, format the sidebars and whatnot. BUT IT’S WORKING Y’ALL AND I DID THAT!
So stay tuned and see happens next.

So glad you’re up and running again!!! I’ve missed my Chili fix!!!
Yea!
You are a better woman than I. I would have run, not walked to my nearest fixer, AKA Karen, Simply Amusing Designs, and thrown $$$ her way to fix it for me. I is no programmr.
Just an FYI- tried updating the feed link and it’s not working. I’ve tried searching by web address: feed not found
Clicked feed icon in web address bar and the one at the top of your site: both end up at feeburner.com missing the “d”
Yep! I fixed the feed problem. A simple typo in my Feedburner code. Thanks for letting me know Christina!
Yay…and I’ve updated my link.
I had a feeling you might have been scrambling in the background. I’m singing for you, too!
Yeah! I LOVE to break things and fix them. Sometimes, sometimes they turn out even better than the original.
Now where are you?
The same EXACT thing happened to me this week!! OY. Glad you’re up and running.
How interesting. I thought I was the only one who broke their blog. And I’m the Computer Lady too (see http://www.thecomputerladyonline.com). It all came from a “blow up” of something on a WordPress blog I had. I am now sticking with Blogger for all of my blogs. Nothing blows up at Blogger. You just need to tweak the heck out of the HTML to make it look professional. But I have been called the Mad Tweaker so that’s okay.
I came over here wondering when the next Bloggy Giveaway Carnival was going to be and I got a dead page. At least I know why now. Hey, if you want someone to take that off your hands I’d be glad to do it. I am not blogging so much about techie stuff now. I am blogging about sweepstakes – go figure.
