Congratulations to CanCan (Mom Most Traveled)
Today is the first day of the Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival! Everyone who’s anyone is playing along and offering goodies. If you’re not there, you should be!
I will be offering something every day this week. And not crappy stuff, either. Stuff you’d want. Stuff you could actually give as gifts. Even today.
Today I give you the gift of family time in the form of two DVDs: Hoot and Little Women
.
Hoot: (Description from Amazon.com) Based on the
best-selling book, Hoot is a classic story that is fun for all ages.
When a boy and his classmates realize that a population of endangered,
burrowing owls is threatened by new construction, the kids decide to
take on crooked politicians and bumbling cops in the hope of saving
their new friends.
Little Women: (Description from Amazon.com)A stirring look at life in New England during the Civil
War, Little Women is a triumph for all involved. We follow one
family as they split into the world, ending up with the most
independent, the outspoken Jo (Winona Ryder). This time around, the
dramatics and conclusions fall into place a little too well, instead of
finding life’s little accidents along the way. Everyone now looks a bit
too cute and oh, so nice. As the matron, Marmee, Susan Sarandon kicks
the film into a modern tone, creating a movie alive with a great
feminine sprit. Kirsten Dunst has
another showy role. The young ensemble cast cannot be faulted, with
Ryder beginning the movie in a role akin to light comedy and
crescendoing to a triumphant end worthy of an Oscar. –Doug Thomas
Are you interested in winning? Leave me a comment telling me what your family does for family night. That’s it. Easy peasy. You won’t win if you don’t follow that rule. Comments like "I wanna win" or "Pick me" won’t be chosen.
Also, don’t enter more than once because duplicate entries will mean that you don’t get any
entries. Just so you know and all. And no anonymous comments because,
hello? How can I contact you if you’re anonymous? Just sayin’.
Finally, the rest of the rules:
- This giveaway is open to US residents only because I’m nothing if not cheap.
- You don’t have to be a blogger to play along, but you do have to have an e-mail address.
- I’ll pick a winner on Friday, October 31 (or Saturday, November 1) and contact you that same day via
e-mail. You have four days to respond. If I don’t hear from you by
then, I’ll have to choose a new winner. Make sure you’re checking your
spam folder.
Don’t forget to check out the other giveaways at the Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival!

We have the kids and grandkids over every other weekend so we do family day and night. We play some outdoor games(basketball horseshoes etc) then have build your own tacos or pizza dinner then watch a movie or play board games.
UNO — we keep a tally of the top winners. This is a great game for a big group and wide ages. Love it.

For family night we either play a game, like Pictionary, or we watch a DVD, and most often, we watch our TV shows that we all like, like Dancing With The Stars.
Thanks so much!

We will either play board games together or watch movies together that we’ve rented.
We take walks!
If it’s nice weather we go to the park and play soccer, usually take the dog. Now that it’s getting cold, we will go back to the board games and DVDS. Thanks
i haven’t heard of Hoot but we love Little Women.
Family Night is fairly often, it is at least once a week. We all take turns choosing what to do on that night which are options such as, board games, movies (we love old movies and musicals), audio stories, old radio shows, crafts, and sometimes the kids will perform plays. Whoever is choosing for that night also gets to choose the meal and dessert to go along. We like to make pizza a lot or whoever is choosing picks their favorite meal. It is the best part of the week!
It changes every week. Sometimes it’s a scripture study session. Sometimes we watch movies or play board games. We have “field trips” too. Family night is the best!

Fridays are our Family Night since there is no school the next day and we can all stay up a little later. We go get take out…Chinese, KFC, or Pizza and then each of us rent a movie and we come back home and just enjoy being together.
It’s kind of sad but we don’t have a family night. I work nights 7p-7a so I’m really not home nor see my husband very often. When we are together we like to watch movies and snuggle on the couch or lately it’s been playing guitar hero together!
My daughter and I would LOVE this
Are family likes to do a “no electricity” night. We turn off all the lights, light lanterns and candles and tell stories or play board games. 0ne time, we tried to play Trouble by candlelight, but there wasn’t enough light to see the color of the playing pieces. We were all squinting and guessing which piece to move!
Lately, we’ve been building fires outside in our fire pit. My husband is a great storyteller so we get the kids all primed and ready for bed with fire and a great story!
We have family night once a week. Are favorite things are board games and movies with popcorn and hot chocolate. And when weather is good we love going for hikes and to the park!
We’d love to watch Hoot and Little Women for family night!!!
Family night here consists of either playing a game or watching a movie. We’ve never seen these before. Hope I win!
We like to play card or board games together.

as a kid growing up, we played games for family night. sorry! was a favorite.
we don’t do an official family night yet, because our son is only a year old. we have taken him to the park and to water fountains for a random family night.
We watch movies.
My family likes to put jigsaw puzzles together on family night. (We like popping popcorn and watching videos too!) My daughter, age 12, would love to have her friends over for a sleepover and watch HOOT and Little Women.
my son is still young, but when he is older we hope to have board games… now he would just eat all the pieces!
Family night for us usually involves watching a movie together or playing a game. We try to alternate and give everybody a chance to choose something they like.
whenever we can get together is family night, and happend whenever my husband can get some time away from his very demanding business. we typically gravitate toward something that makes us laugh, like seinfeld or king of queens reruns, or pop in a brian regan video. we cancel formal bedtimes and just enjoy being together with dad.
I would love to win this. LIttle Woman is one of my favorites. We don’t do much of a Family night yet because pretty much everynight is family night. However my husband and I have been kind of trying to have a little date night after the kids go to bed on Friday nights. We usually rent a kid friendly DVD for us all to watch and then one more adult geered. Thanks for the chance.
In our church we actually have a formally scheduled family night called Family Home Evening, which is every Monday night. For those, we sing, teach brief spiritual lessons, and have an activity (oh, and the treats! I can’t forget about the treats!). For the more spontaneous family nights, we love to have Wii tournaments, watch movies, or play games (current faves: either “Up and Down the River” or “The Great Dalmuti” – both card games; or, Pass the Pigs)
We play board games and watch movies. These are two great movies. Thanks for hosting the site and offering these movies. Have a great afternoon!
We love to cook a new recipe…everyone helps. Then we play board games or snuggle and watch movies.

We try to hold family night each week. We will often have a lesson on something religious &/or just about good old fashion values. Other times, we will do some fun family activity such as fishing, 4 wheeler rides, carving pumpkins, 12 days of christmas, watching a movie, etc. And then of course we always have to have some sort of treat! Basically anything to get the family together for awhile.
Thanks for the chance to win.

The past few months, my family has ordered Thai Food and watched Project Runway and voted for our favorite contestant. Now that the season is over, we will probably start watching Top Chef as a family and eating homemade goodies together. It’s a fun cozy thing to do on a fall evening. We’d love to win your movies!

Family night in the summer consists of going to the park, or for a walk, pretty much anything outside, a picnic sometimes even. In the winter its usually board games or watching a movie with popcorn.
For family night we watch a movie or play on the wii. Thanks for the great giveaway.
With a young toddler in the house, our ‘family night’ is whenever my husband and I can tackle a bowl of popcorn and the Scrabble board for an hour or so. It makes me so mad when he wins!
But only more motivated for the next family night…
Friday nights are usually rest night at my house after a week of work and school. We have family nite on Saturday nites which usually involve a couple of DVDs and popcorn…well maybe a couple of buckets of popcorn…lol. Thanks for a great giveaway!!!
Well, my kiddos are still little, but we love to play in our unfinished basement. We can run, dance, ride bikes/tricycles, throw balls and frisbees down there. Just be rough and tumble, which is strictly reserved for the basement!
We play games, make popcorn, and watch movies!

We often go fishing for family time! My husband and I both really love to go and our 5 month old loves to be outside and so she hangs in her Snugli carrier whether we fish, go on a hike, or just go on a walk together around town. We love to be outside!
We go to Souplantation and all share the same ice cream.
We like to play mexican train dominos on family night, and eat junk food!
