Today Shannon asked us to share our recipes that involve five ingredients or less. Since I figured driving to Taco Bueno for dinner probably wouldn’t count as a recipe, I decided to share my recipe for chocolate cherries.

Chocolate and cherries? And it’s in the crockpot? Easy and yummy. My two favorite things.

Ingredients

  • 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • 1 (18 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup butter

Directions

  1. Place pie filling in slow cooker.
  2. Combine dry cake mix and butter.
  3. Sprinkle over filling.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours.

Now head back over to Shannon’s for some additional foodie treats.

Do you think that’d fly on the new low carb diet I’m doing?
Shucks!
Sounds amazing though!

I make this same recipe when we go camping in a dutch oven stoked in charcoal.
It rocks!
Thanks for giving me directions for making it at home…

Wow, does this ever sound good. Actually, I could go for a little Taco Bueno right now too. This week’s theme sure is making me hungry! Thanks for posting this, I can’t wait to try it. :)

Oh, my husband would love this. Do you melt the butter first or mix it cold to get a crumb-y texture?

It’s amazing what we can make with just 3 ingredients. Wow. Cherry is one of my favorite pie fillings.
