Bloggy Giveaways: Toast 8

Carnival_buttonThis giveaway is now closed.

Oh yes! The Bloggy Giveaways Carnival is in full swing this week! I hope you’re playing along because it’s great fun.

Here is my prize for today: TOAST 8

I have it on my Mac, but I haven’t been able to use it because I dropped my Mac and bent the opening to the CD player thingy. I hear great things about TOAST 8, though. And if I could use mine, I’m absolutely certain the sun would shine brighter, birds would sing more sweetly, and Matt Damon would come clean my house.

What is TOAST 8? It software for the Mac that let you (according to Amazon.com–where I copied the following from)

  • copy your audio CDs, movies and DVDs
  • take your favorite TV shows to go, with easy TiVoToGo transfers
  • Blu-ray Disc Support: Burn up to 50 GB – 12,500 music tracks, or 50,000 photos, or 4 hours of raw HD video
  • restore and recover files from scratched or damaged discs while copying
  • create DJ-style audio CDs with the same pro-quality audio features previously found in Roxio Jam

See what I mean? It’s awesome.

Wanna win it? Leave me a comment on this post. That’s it! Of course, I’d love it if you wrote something besides "Pick me!" or "I want this!" because I’d rather read about how you’ll use the software. But any comment counts.

The only thing I ask is that you don’t enter more than once because duplicate entries will mean that you don’t get any entries. Just so you know and all. And no anonymous comments because, hello? How can I contact you if you’re anonymous? Just sayin’.

I’ll pick a winner on Friday and contact you that same day via e-mail. You don’t have to be a blogger to play along, but it will definitely help if you at least have a Mac since the software is specifically for a Mac computer.

I plan to have some other giveaways going on here this week, but I have yet to decide what they should be. I’m nothing if not a complete and total procrastinator.

Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

I would love to try this out! I have an old mac, but am buying a new one soon – and this would make a great first new program to try on the new computer! :)
thanks so much!

5 wcdiva April 21, 2008 at 12:37 pm

What an awesome give away! I am just learning my way around MAC stuff, and this would be the icing on my delcious pound cake! Thank you for your generosity!

6 Casey @ Finding Beauty April 21, 2008 at 12:42 pm

This ROCKS!! What a great giveaway! Love it Love it Love it! My mac and I would use this to make all of my old Amy Grant CD’s, that are so overplayed and skippy that I cannot upload them to my iPod, work again. And while iTunes is nice and all, I was a devoted AG follower and to download all those tunes would cost me, um, hundreds at least.
So yea for Toast 8!

My husband was just commenting about how we need Toast on our newer Mac computer (the old one has it). We are interviewing his parents about their lives and so we need to use all the cool video editing programs on the Mac, and to then burn them easily onto DVD. So that is why we need Toast! I’ll tell him not to buy it until after Friday, just in case!

10 Claire April 21, 2008 at 1:30 pm

Oh I can tell you exactly whay I would want this peachy little gadget. We live in our RV. So space is at a premium. I would loove to be able to transfer all my music from cassette tapes and my movies from VCRs and the home movies too, to those flat little CD thingys that take up sooo much less room, so that I could actually have all my music and all my movies *in the RV* at once! That would truly be cool!

I have always been a PC girl. Always! Then with my new job I’ve been switched to a Mac. At first I felt like I was cheating…now? I so don’t care that I’m cheating! I see what the big hub-bub is all about and I’m glad I’m FINALLY on board. I’m all about the Mac toys now, and I would love to use this one on my iMac.

34 Carolsue April 21, 2008 at 8:19 pm

Unless I am reading it wrong, the description sounds like it is compatible with the PC. If not, then I’ll decline. But if it is, it sounds like a really useful piece of software which I would use a lot! Thanks for a great giveaway!

35 Christy April 21, 2008 at 9:25 pm

Well, I’m not sure how I’d use it, but I’ve just switched to Mac, so I’m sure I’d figure it out as I learn more about Macs. Which I now absolutely love!!!

36 Ilissa H. April 21, 2008 at 10:00 pm

Considering I’m not kitchen literate and I burn ACTUAL toast in the toaster – lol – this would be a wonderful win for my computer literate self! I can handle my Mac with ease so this could be the first time I finally say to my husband I did not ruin The Toast!!!! : )

39 heather April 22, 2008 at 5:42 am

I’d use it to transfer my VHS tapes to DVD and to free up some room on the tivo. I can’t get rid of some cooking shows I’ve accumulated!!!
