I Voted Today!

I voted today, but I wasn’t happy about it. I was all set to vote for ol’ Huckabee. He doesn’t really have a chance at the nomination, but he’s my pick right now because I do believe in the Fair Tax. I’m not sure what I’ll do come November.

You want to know what I’m upset about?

Apparently, I am registered as a Democrat instead of a Republican (even though I’m REALLY a Libertarian).

A Dem. O. CRAT.

WTF? When did that happen? Stupid college. I’m sure I registered as a Dem when I was all touchy-feely, save-the-earth crazy. Don’t bother with the hate mail.

Now that I’m all let-my-family-keep-what-it-earns, let-me-make-my-own-decisions-I’m-totally-capable I’m annoyed that I thought I changed my registration and didn’t.

I had to vote for that UFO-spotting Kucinich. You’re welcome.

My husband is a Dem, even though he opposes gun control. I can’t remember the last time he voted FOR someone he supported, instead of against someone he disliked.

I have been more than a little frustrated with this election. Rachel Lucas has had some great posts about it as well.

Ok, and I’m more than a little nervous about commenting after listening to the podcast! Ya’ll were completely wonderful, but I am not afraid that I’m not adding anything of value. Not that you guys even said anything like that in the podcast. I’m just a big fat dumb freak. That’s all.

Just curious, but why Huckabee and not Paul? I’m libertarian leaning as well and could never vote for Huckabee because of his very-unConstitutional leanings.

That cracks me up for some reason, and I’m so sorry.

I just peed my pants.

LOL. I’m totally getting you a Kucinich shirt.

LOL! I am not sure how I am registered…I wonder if it says on my voter registration card, I’ll have to look. I was pulling for Huckabee, but some of his statements about rewriting the Constitution made me ocncerned. I am an Independent and prefer to vote for whichever candidate matches my beliefs the most, regardless of their party affiliation. I have a friend who would vote Democrat no matter what. I just don’t get that kind of mentality.

I find your voting system really intriguing.
I have lived through(many) Australian and UK elections and while they are both really different I have a sneaking suspiscion the US system may win. I don’t get that your vote is predecided?!?! Help enlighten the dopey few?

I’m voting for Pedro this year. (dopey movie, “Napolean Dynamite” allusion; nothing to do with immigration)

The Fair Tax will hurt people who don’t pay taxes right now and people who live paycheck to paycheck. The only fair tax is no tax. :) I agree with Amanda, I could never vote for Huckabee. I was homeschooled and Huckabee would be very bad for homeschooling, he had a very bad record for homeschooling in Ark.
