In December my neck of the woods had an ice storm. Many people were without power (I was not one of those people). Many people lost trees (I was one of those people). School was out for a whole week (my kids were part of that group).
The week after the ice storm life began to slowly move toward normal. School was back in session. However, Husband and I had chosen this particular week–way back in August–for our family trip to Disney World. We even kept it a surprise for the kids (more on this later).
The week after that was the beginning of winter break. Two whole weeks of winter break.
Have you done the math? That’s four weeks of no school, sleeping in, playing, having fun, and eating whenever we want. No schedules. No have-tos.
And it’s all ending tomorrow morning.
Thank you to all that is good on this earth, it’s all ending tomorrow morning.

Which dates were you at Disney? I’m assuming Disney WORLD…we were there Dec 20-30.
(Jumping up and down with joy and relief)
I’ve been counting the days and it was only the two week thing for us.
I’ll definitely be thinking of you tomorrow morning as you try to rouse the troops back to school!
i cannot wait to hear more about disney.
i’m sure it’ll be great to have them off to school tomorrow. that’s quite a stretch.
Tomorrow’s the day back for us as well. Man, it’s going to be a rough morning!
Some people are in for a rude awakening tomorrow. I have a feeling you will be one of those people.
I’m only sending one back to preschool 2 mornings a week & we are BOTH ready. Would love to hear about your Disney trip. We are huge fans of WDW!
Yeah, I was one of those people without electricity WHILE I was trying to pack for our move, and with my 2 yr old and 5 mo old. Luckily ours was out for 24 hours and that’s it. Could ahve been much worse.
My God, four weeks of my kids out of school and I’d have to find myself a padded room. I love them to the ends of the earth and back, but dang, it was great when school started on Thursday!
