"Why are you in my room at 5:03am?" : Max, in response to being woken up for a surprise visit to Disney World.
"What about my beauty sleep?" : Wild Thing, in response to having to get out of bed so we could get to the airport on time.
"Guess we won’t be making $10,000 on that video" : Husband, after
realizing our kids were too sleepy to even pretend to be excited about
Disney World.
347 : Number of pictures we took.
Eleventy Bajillion : Number of calories consumed per person per day.
3 : Number of times Wild Thing and I rode Rockin’ Roller Coaster in under an hour.
2 : Number of times we got to ride in the front of the Monorail.
2 : Number of character breakfasts we attended.
1/2 : The number of all the pictures taken that ended up blurry because Husband took them at night without a tripod. I love his can-do spirit. (I’ll post the really good ones tomorrow.)

I’m glad the kids had fun…and that they’re so hard to wake up. My 4 year old, every day of his life, has fought going to bed and hates waking up. My second child, 2, is usually easy to put to bed and wakes up happy. But especially with something so exciting I think its funny.
The very first time my family went to WDW, my parents woke us up at 2am. We were traveling in an RV, so my sister and I just grabbed our pillows and daddy carried us to the car. He drove practically non-stop until the sun came up. Smart guy that he was, he wanted to get as far as he could before he had two little ones screaming at the tops of their lungs about going to “DISNEY WORLD DISNEY WORLD DISNEY WORLD!!!”
I wouldn’t change a thing about that trip, either. It was perfect. I still remember laying down in the RV, looking out the window at the clear night sky and counting stars. I remember seeing “THE castle” for the first time. And my parents still love to tell the story about how my sis and I fell asleep on park benches in that little area directly in front of the Main Street Train Station. We missed the last half of the light parade and our parents had to carry us back to the car!
I remember so much of these things, even though I was a young kid. I wouldn’t trade any of these memories either. I hope someday, your kids will think fondly of their experience! I CAN’T WAIT to take my daughter!
(Isn’t the monorail the best? My sis and I STILL love to try and ride up front!)
Wasn’t that castle at night the most BEAUTIFUL thing you’ve ever seen?!
glad you had a great time!
