Sunday YouTube: Can’t Touch This

in Sunday YouTube

Today I’m giving you two for the price of one. JibJab has a great SNL commercial spoof you must see. Then, when you’re done with that, come back and watch this one. I’m torn between thinking it’s ingenious, being amazed that MC Hammer’s riff is adaptable to so many pre-school songs, and wondering if having to listen to it for so long counts as torture. You tell me.

I am going to go with torture. Honestly, I didn’t make it past the “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” verse.
On the other hand- Kotex Classic? LOVED it!

Well I enjoyed both. Kotex classic! I loved at the end of the hammer video the little kid at his desk making paper airplanes.

I think it’s torture.

I remember the Kotex sketch from back in the day when it was brand new! It’s still funny.
The MC Hammer…not so much. A little grading on my nerves.

I can’t help watching the Kotex classic commercial without remembering when I was 9 and “started” when I was visiting my dad. Those are what he bought me. He wasn’t the only one bewildered. It’s like a chastity belt/menstrual pad/medieval torture device all rolled into one inconvenient and hard to use product. Not to mention the unsightly bulges…lol. I’m cracking up.
The MC Hammer one? Fast forwarded after the heads, shoulders, knees and toes…the little dude in the corner with the origami was cracking me up the most.

Torture…definitely torture. But you have to admit, in America we don’t take second language learning as seriously and maybe we should. Look at how young these kids are and they are speaking English, and pretty well at that.

I’m not familiar with the song at all, but I sure enjoyed watching those kids do their little routine. They’re doing great with their English!
