I’m a Boing Boing addict. I have them in my bloglines and peruse the new posts all day long. Some are funny, some are interesting, some are helpful, some are not my cup of tea. This one, though, I have to share. It’s a table (technical writers unite!) giving a basic idea of what issues the eleventy million candidates in the Democratic and Republican camps basically support or don’t support. If you haven’t been doing your research, this may be a place for you start.
There is also a site that lets you decide how important issues are to you and then matches you up with the candidate that most closely resembles your ideal.

I’ve been addicted to Huffington Post for awhile. I’ve heard of Boing Boing…I’ve visited Boing Boing…and I’m scared that I will have to start religiously reading it too. Grr. Too much!
Great link, however. Thanks.
Fascinating! Now I have some candidates to check out. What a great resource. We’ll be using these in our homeschool.
Yea! Fellow technical writer here–I’ve soooo been looking for a table like this. Thanks!
I’m so glad you found information like this! I always feel so clueless about politics that it’s not even funny.
Thank you so much for giving me the chance to feel halfway smart about the candidates! ^_^
I read several political blogs , and will have to run oner and Boing! Thanks for the heads up.
Darn. I thought Boing Boing meant sex. Man, politics is not as fun as sex!!!
Cliffs Notes for the Politically Ignorant (or Apathetic)… THANK YOU!
It says that I should vote for Mitt Romney.
Thanks for the links – very helpful!
Great links! I am all about information when it comes to elections. Some vote knowledgably, some vote blind, and others don’t vote. This election is so important for our country. Thanks for helping getting out the details!
Mine says Mitt Romney, whom is already on my high list. Hunter was my second. Don’t know much about him, so I’ll have to research. I am so totally confused by all these candidates’ slick talking, I wish they would be more clear. So far, I’m going back and forth between Romney and Giuliani.
While it’s a good starting point, I think this test oversimplifies the issues a little, though. Example: embryonic stem-cells. Here’s my position. Funding research on cord blood and the existing lines of DNA? YES. Cloning embryos, and destroying viable babies for research? NO. So do I support or oppose stem cells? I don’t know.
Great discussion starter!
I should have said “viable embryos”, since they couldn’t actually live outside the womb.
Sorry to take over your comments, but I just looked at the table. Have any of the candidates actually said they support torture?
