In this post I showed you the bounty of my shoe shopping expeditions. What I did not tell you is that, apparently, my feet are shrinking.
I have worn a size 8 shoe since I don’t know when. Probably when my feet swelled from my first pregnancy back in 1997. Maybe a little before then if you take into account the incredible width of my feet.
Now I’m a size 7.5 or (gasp!) size 7. Are you kidding me with this?
It’s bad enough that a size 8 pair of jeans from 1989 would be considered a size 2 these days because of the vanity sizing, but now we have vanity shoe sizing?
Soon we’ll all be wearing size 2T jeans and have bare feet.
Which may not be so bad if we don’t have to do the potty training thing all over again.

Ok- so does that mean if I wear an 11, and cannot find ANYTHING that’s cute, and fits .. I stand some glimmer of hope now?
Bring it on, baby!
Ain’t hormones grand? My feet went from size 6 to size 7 after first kid. They got wider too…..hmmmmmm maybe it’s a conspiracy thought up by male shoemakers to keep us spending? Just a thought.
I just noticed the same thing recently. I thought it was just me, but then all the shoes I have at home still fit. Hmm…

Mine went from a 9 1/2 – 10 to a 8 1/2 – 9 after my second pregnancy. Bizarre is right.
On the other hand, I got new shoes for the first time in years…
All I know is my 11 year-old is currently the same shoe size as I am, and that aint right! Too much hormones in the milk I guess.
My shoe size went up by the way. Probably to balance out the physics of my arse expanding so widely…
No fair! I’ve yet to discover the beauty that is vanity shoe sizing! I’ve been a size 10 since 6th grade.
I’ve worn the same shoe size since 8th grade, except for when I was pregnant and my feet swelled clean up to my kneecaps.
Hmmm! So does that mean you are packing up all your size 8′s and sending them to me??!
Ha that cracks me up, and also answers the question as to why I too am wearing a smaller size shoe….and I’m pregnant!
My feet are growing, not shrinking, unfortunately.
But I’m a 7-7 1/2 if you ever need any shoes.
