Masterpiece Theater’s Jane Eyre

I watched Masterpiece Theater’s Jane Eyre two days ago and I cannot get it out of my head! It was an unbelievable adaptation of the book. The best.

When I read Jane Eyre there are certain parts that make my whole body shiver. Butterflies in my stomach. Goosebumps on my arms. The chemistry of love in this book is undeniable.

When I watched this movie two days ago, I had the same reactions I do when I’m reading the book. In fact, though I’ve never cried while reading the book, I cried while watching the movie. Ruth Wilson and Toby Stephens portray Jane and Mr. Rochester to perfection.

If you do nothing else today, put this movie at the top of your Netflix queue, rent it from Blockbuster, or better yet, order it from Amazon. If you love Jane Eyre you will not be disappointed. Trust me. The scene where Jane is leaving Mr. Rochester? You will not be able to get it out of your head. It’s been a bit re-imagined, but it’s even more powerful, I think.

What are the odds that we would post on the same thing today? It’s like we’re in each others’ minds… Do do do do, do do do do…
Although I have to admit that I haven’t seen your production of Jane Eyre. I did however love the one by A&E.

If we were in junior high (remember when it was junior high and not middle school?), I’d TOTALLY write your number on my hand so I could call you and we could watch it while we’re on the phone and instead of conversation, we’d just say the lines back and forth to each other. While we polish our toenails and pick our zits and try not to get Noxema on the phone. Because we’re KEWL.

Whoever you are, you are sure right. I’m PO’d to death right now, because I just happen to cacth this movie on PBS and it’s a 2 part series. As you can guess I’m on the first part, well it’s bittersweet. I desperately want to finish this movie RIGHT NOW!!!
I want to read the story online. But the acting and realism of this Masterpiece Theater I want to watch this play out. Man, this is a GREAT production.
